National Poetry Day

Today was National Poetry Day.

We shared lots of poems in class, and we were lucky enough to have some librarians from Worcester Park Library come to visit us during assembly. They were called Pink and Lindsey. They told us a funny story about a boy who learnt a poem at school and sang it all day and night. The children got to join with noises and actions for the story and learnt the funny poem:

“Crash, bang, clatter and bang

Gonna make my noise all day

Crash bang clatter and bang

Cos I like to sing and play.”

They also told us about special events coming up in the library. During half term, they are going to have a real spider, a snake and a frog there - well worth a visit! They also very kindly gave every child a story book to take home called My Pet Star.
