Dear Parents and Carers

It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the final half-term of the school year! Time has flown by, and it’s been lovely to see how much the children have grown and progressed over the past months. A huge thanks to the staff team who work so hard to achieve this.

You may have heard about a growing initiative within our parent community, encouraging families to consider delaying the age at which children are given smartphones. This movement, known as Smartphone Free Schools, is gaining interest amongst parents who are keen to explore this idea further.

If your child attends Auriol, you will have already received information from Mr Knights. While we are both happy to support communication and help gather feedback for the parent community, please note that we are not here to offer opinions or advice on when a child should receive a smartphone — that decision remains entirely with you as parents and carers.

However, to support the group’s efforts, we invite you to complete a short anonymous survey by Friday 6th June. The results will help provide a clearer picture of the community’s views and whether there is a shared direction moving forward. You can access the survey here:
Parent Survey

(If you’ve already completed the survey for Auriol, there’s no need to do it again.)

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

We wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable half-term break, and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 2nd June.

Kindest regards

Mrs Creasey

The Year 2 children had an exciting and educational visit from the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. The firefighters came to school to talk about the importance of fire safety and how to stay safe in an emergency.  It was a fun and informative session that left the children feeling more confident and aware of how to stay safe around fire.

                 Brooklands Museum

Our Year 1 children had an amazing trip to Brooklands Museum. They were thrilled to see all the incredible planes and learn fascinating facts about different types of transport. A big thank you to Brooklands Museum, the trip volunteers and staff for making this day so special!May be an image of 8 people and text

       Pond Dipping at Nower Wood

Reception had an amazing time on their school trip to Nower Wood, where they spent the day exploring the great outdoors and discovering the wonders of nature!

Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of exciting hands-on activities. They went pond dipping, using nets and trays to carefully search for tiny creatures living in the water. In the woodland areas, the children enjoyed a minibeast hunt, looking under logs and leaves to find all kinds of creepy crawlies. Another highlight was the sensory trail, where children used their senses to explore different textures and sounds.

Five Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day!

The Nursery was buzzing with excitement as the children welcomed a very special delivery—duckling eggs!  The children watched in wonder as the eggs began to hatch, witnessing the incredible moment new life emerged. This hands-on experience has sparked endless curiosity and learning, as the children explored the life cycle of ducks, how to care for living things, and the importance of being gentle and patient. Watching the ducklings grow and interact has brought so much joy and fascination to the classroom, making it a truly unforgettable experience for our youngest learners.

We still continue to see a number of parents parking illegally on Cudas Close during drop and pick-up times. Eber Kington, our local Residents Association County Councillor for Epsom and Ewell  has been in touch with the school regarding this problem.  He has informed us that parents and the school can report parking issues by email to:

SurreyParkingEnforcement@nslservices.co.uk or by telephone via their contact centre on 0330 175 5930

Please help us keep our families and children safe by parking considerately and abiding by the parking regulations
