Stoneleigh Library Summer Reading Challenge
We are delighted to share that the Children’s Summer Reading Challenge at Stoneleigh Community Library is now underway and will run throughout the summer holidays until Saturday, 13th September.
Diana Kay from Stoneleigh Community Library recently visited The Mead Nursery and Infant School to introduce the challenge to our pupils. The initiative is open to all children aged 3–11 years, and children do not need to be independent readers to take part. Parents and carers are encouraged to enjoy reading together with their children.
The challenge is designed to make reading fun and engaging over the summer break, helping children maintain their reading habits. Participants can choose from a wide selection of books available at the library. There are rewards and prizes for each book read, and children who complete the challenge will receive a certificate.
Additionally, children who join the challenge at Stoneleigh Community Library will receive a book prize and an invitation to a special celebration event on Saturday, 13th September from 5:00–6:00pm.
To take part, your child will need a library card. While all local libraries are running the challenge, please note that incentives and prizes may vary by location.
Stoneleigh Community Library will also be hosting a variety of free summer activities linked to this year’s Story Garden theme. These include LEGO building, arts and crafts, model making, storytelling, and creative writing sessions.
