Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another busy half-term, I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you for your continued support.

This half-term has been filled with many exciting activities and learning opportunities. Everyone has worked really hard and should be proud of their achievements.

I would like to wish you all a happy and restful half-term break. We look forward to seeing you again in the new half-term.

Kindest regards

Mrs Creasey

Teaching and Learning / Student Attendance

                                    Attendance

Whole School Attendance currently stands at 94.3 %.

Attendance is strongly linked to how well pupils achieve; for this reason, the attendance of all pupils is closely monitored.

Please remember that holidays are not authorised during term time, and you may be liable for a fine if the absence is 5 days or more with in a 3-month period.

The days do not need to be consecutive.

Year 2 Arctic and Antarctic Immersion Week

Year 2 have ended their term with a fabulous finish to their learning about the Arctic and Antarctic over the last half-term. Together they have created scenes representing the Arctic and Antarctic based of all the knowledge and skills they have learnt. I really enjoyed listening to their presentations, and they have all done some great learning. Well done year 2

Birthdays | Gulf World Marine Park

We love to celebrate your child's birthday at The Mead please could we ask that you do not bring sweets or other food into the playground for the children. If you do want to send something into school to celebrate your child's birthday, a favourite book is always a lovely way to share this special day. Thank you for this support on the matter.

                       Year 2 Drama Workshop

On Thursday, Year 2 children were visited by Freshwater Theatre who ran an Antarctic workshop. This was a great consolidation of the children's current topic of the poles. The workshop was very interactive and children learnt a song about the continents and thought about what equipment they would need to take on an Antarctic expedition. They also acted out what the Antarctic landscape was like and learnt more facts about what animals live there. Finally, there was discussion about the threats to the poles in terms of climate change. All the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
