Welcome to The Mead

Proud to Belong

Welcome to The Mead. We hope that this website will give you an insight into our successful school and will answer any questions you may have.

The Mead is a three-form entry infant school with Specialist Resource Base for deaf children. We offer a high quality educational environment in which children are happy and motivated to learn. Every child is unique and we work hard to develop their individuality, as well as providing for their particular needs.

Great importance is placed on encouraging your child to be self-confident, co-operative and sensitive to the needs of others.

We welcome parents into school and are fully committed to a true partnership between your child, home and school. We greatly value the contribution you have to offer and look forward to working with you to support the all-round development of your child.

We expect a high level of achievement in work and behaviour from everyone. We are proud of our high standards in reading, writing and maths and the outstanding range of activities we offer. Our excellence has been recognised by several recent awards including OFSTED Outstanding Education Care and Skills, The Inclusion Quality Mark, Basic Skills Quality Mark and Parent Partnership Award.

We hope that you will enjoy browsing this site to get a flavour of the exciting and diverse opportunities we offer. To gain a deeper understanding of The Mead we invite you come and visit us. We will introduce you to The Mead 'family' and you will quickly see why everyone agrees - at The Mead, we truly are...Proud To Belong!

I look forward to welcoming you and your family,

Mrs Ashley, Head Teacher
