Our Work

Besides the Full Governing Body, which meets twice a term, all the Governors are involved in committees. These committees have a more specific remit and workload. The school has recently re-organised the committee structure so that in common with most other schools we now have two committees:

Children and Learning Committee

This committee replaced the former Curriculum and Strategic Planning Committee. It provides information and guidance to the Governing Body on matters relating to the curriculum across the Foundation Stage and Key Stage One. The committee contributes to the review, development, implementation and monitoring of all of the curriculum targets set out in the School Improvement and Development Plan, and ensures that all decisions comply with the National Curriculum, the Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance and Surrey CC Guidelines.

Resources Committee

This committee is an amalgamation of the responsibilities undertaken by the former Finance, Pay and Personnel and Community and Premises Committees. Accordingly the key functions of the committee are to set, monitor and evaluate the school’s budget. All financial priorities are set out in the School’s Improvement and Development Plan. The Committee monitors the school’s spending on a monthly basis. These are very challenging times for the school’s budget and contributions from the School Fund and Parents Association are gratefully received.

The Committee also provides information and guidance to the Governing Body on matters relating to Personnel and Pay and ensures that appropriate Performance Management procedures for teachers are in place across the school. Named Governors review the performance of the Head Teacher and Deputy Head and also review the staff salary structure each year.

The Committee also provides information and guidance to the Governing Body on the community affairs and premises, including statutory obligations, and the public profile of the School and its links with the community. The Committee has an overview of the condition of the premises and carries out regular health and safety checks.
