Our School

The Mead is a three-form entry infant school. There are three classes of 30 children in each Year Group, making nine classes in total. The Mead also has a Nursery for 65 children, we are able to offer twenty-six 15-hour places in the morning and thirty-nine 30hr places. We also have a specialist centre for deaf children.

The school is housed in one building with two playgrounds. We share a large playing field with our feeder school,Auriol Junior school on an adjoining site. The school has recently been refurbished and offers a bright and well resourced learning environment.

The Early years department houses three large Reception classrooms and two Nursery Classrooms and our Sunshine Room which is our specialist provision for deaf children.  All classrooms have access to outdoor learning spaces.

The Key Stage 1 building has classrooms for our year 1 and 2 children. It has also an attractive well-stocked library, a hall with a range of gym equipment. All the classrooms have sound field systems, acoustic ceilings and are carpeted, giving us good conditions for listening and learning for all of our children. The playgrounds offer a range of equipment including a large climbing frame, trim trail and climbing wall.

The Mead is a popular school, respected by parents in the local community and is a family community where everyone is "Proud to Belong"
