Welcome to The Mead Parents’ Association

The Parents’ Association extends a warm welcome to every parent or guardian with a child at The Mead. The purpose of the PA is to promote the goals of the school and enhance the education that our children receive, whilst promoting good communication between parents.

This group of parent volunteers is lead by a board consisting of a Chairperson, three Vice-Chairs, a Secretary, Treasurer, Head Teacher, and aided by at least one parent representative from each class.

The PA volunteers work closely with the school to raise additional monies to help buy items not funded by the Local Education Authority. We do this by organising events for the children and parents such as fairs, quiz nights, cake sales, photo days and a host of other activities.

Previous fundraising has helped to buy many resources, including:

  • Play equipment in the playground
  • Canopy in the Oak playground
  • Wet playtime toys/activities
  • Visualisers in each classroom

Our main focus this year is to fund the purchase of an outside classroom. We will also be funding any ad hoc projects that come to light through the year. All expenditure is discussed and agreed at one of the PA meetings to ensure that each pound raised is carefully spent.

We hold a lively meeting each half term which everyone is invited to attend. We always welcome new faces especially if you have any fundraising ideas or can lend practical support. Please come and join us, you can be as involved as you like! We also hold informal coffee mornings at the school to give parents who are unable to attend evening meetings a chance to catch up on events.

Of course, if you see any of the below committee in the playground, please feel free to come and ask any questions you may have.
